Just prior to the 2008 election, I worried aloud to a cousin of mine, who I knew was leaning Democrat (if he hadn't already voted so) that Obama had professed publicly his desire to create a civilian army (ahem..."security force") to rival in size and weaponry the US Military, and which answered only to him.
My cousin's animated response: "There's no way they'd ever let that happen."
In response to him was my question, dreading then what we've since seen come to pass, "with a majority in the House and a super-majority in the Senate, can you please tell me who you think 'they' will be?"
Even if you think you have reason to dislike Mr. Beck, watch this clip. And ask yourself if you're the least bit comfortable with who "they" are and what "their" motivations entail. Who among the great mysterious "they" has your interests at heart?
Would you care to guess whose well-being "they" do value?
When "they" have made it illegal or economically impossible to farm cattle on your own land, you can, with the help of a government-subsidized group like the one in this video, establish your own whore-house and employ (not to mention, benefit from their classification as "dependents" on your taxes) underage prostitutes smuggled from El Salvador.
Not for nuthin', but the "advisors" in this video very, very much resemble the administrative staff, advocates, and support personnel at the state-run (University of Texas) MD Anderson hospital.
Please tell me you've at least begun some measure of introspection on the sanity of your choices, Cuz.

ReplyDeleteStephen, I'd have hoped you might have picked up on my sarcasm regarding the irony that the current administration places more value on maintaining and perpetuating a culture of dependency and corruption (tax-subsidized whorehouses) than a self-reliant (not to mention, infinitely more wholesome) endeavor.
ReplyDeleteOne one hand, your government has no qualms supporting (40% of their operating budget, plus additional millions funneled to and through them) corrupt organizations like ACORN, and on the other, appointing an avowed animal "rights" proponent like Sunstein, to a position of authority over the federal accounts-payable department...regulatory czar. Like Beck says, you'll wake up a few months down the road, and wonder, "We used to could do that, now we can't. What happened?" That's the effective danger of putting someone with a crackpot agenda in charge of "regulations".
Perhaps your generation rates "pimpin'" as admirable, but I think I'd have boatloads more respect for you as a soldier than as mac-daddy kingpin of a taxpayer-funded, slave-laborin', child-prostitution racket.

Jeff, I meant no disrespect, I was simply being as sarcastic as feasibly possible. I did infact realize that you too, were being sarcastic. I was agreeing with you 100% of the way. I agree that our corrupt government programs(and other nastys) are wrong in many, many different ways.

Oh, and on a side note, I've been following your blog quite regularly(at least 3 or 4 times a week) since I found out you had one. I honestly have to say that I agree with you 100% of the time.
I honestly did not realize how corrupt our government has become, and I aplaud you for bringing these topics to the surface. I only wish more people knew these things happened(you should have seen my face when I watched the video on ACORN).
