We watched the movie Greater a few nights ago, and would like to heartily recommend it. Although some elements are a bit more sentimental than necessary, it beautifully depicts the wholesome story of how a young man, through faith and determination, exceeds all expected limitations.
Indiewire says he was "taken from this world far too soon" (which is certainly true) but "just before he was about to make a difference." I bet you would be hard pressed to find anyone who knew him who might suggest he was yet to make a difference. In their lives, at least.
And the lesson transcends football. No social programs, no 5-star credentials, and no "crip" courses necessary. Just equal measures of faith and determination. The kind of man, and the kind of film, that'll make you want to be a better person.
